November 20 – 24, 2017 is Week of Kindness in Trillium Lakelands District School Board. Its purpose is to help promote safe schools and a positive learning environment. During Week of Kindness, TLDSB students, school staff, and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.

Students from Mrs. Simpson’s Personal Life Management Class took the time to make an impact in their school communities with these activities:

  • Making a Kindness & Gratitude board: the HIP4O class selected meaningful images to portray kindness and gratitude in life, created tickets with these and distributed to students to recognize “Acts of Kindness” and acknowledge things they were grateful for.
  • Baking and Donation of muffins for APCH & Women’s Shelter. During the JHS Towards A Healthy Future Cooking Program, the HIP4O class baked, individually wrapped, and donated about 100 muffins to the two local shelters. Wow!
  • Kidney Clothing Drive: Students organized collection of over 50 large garbage bags of adult & kids clothes, coats, shoes, boots, accessories, bedding etc. Students from the school had opportunity to take what they needed, and the rest is now going to the Kidney Clothing Drive.
