Summer School

Summer School is offered at all six Adult & Alternate Education Centres. Currently, the only Summer School course available is Co-operative Education. Registration for Summer School takes place in July of each year. To be eligible for Summer School, students must presently be in grade 8, 9, 10, 11 or in our paid Co-operative Education program.

Registration & What You’ll Need

If you are NOT a student currently enrolled with TLDSB, you will need to download and complete an Out of Board Student Registration Form and an Exchange of Information Form. Once you have completed the Summer School Co-op Registration Form, you need to:

1. Download and complete the registration form and if you are currently registered at any Adult & Alternate Education Centre you can email the form to [email protected], OR

2. Download and complete the registration form and if you are currently registered at another school within Trillium Lakelands District School Board, you can send your forms back to your home school contact, OR

3. Download and complete the registration form(s) and if you are NOT currently registered at any school within Trillium Lakelands District School Board, you can email them to [email protected]

4. The deadline to register for Summer School Co-op is June 4, 2021.  If you require any assistance, please contact your guidance counsellor or summer school office administrator, Linda Phillips at [email protected].

Summer School Co-operative Education will run from July 2 – July 29, 2021 if the minimum number of students are reached in each respective area of the School Board (City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton County, District of Muskoka).

GLS1O – Learning Strategies

This course will focus on learning strategies to help students become better, more independent learners.  Students will learn how to develop and apply numeracy skills, personal-management skills and interpersonal and teamwork skills to improve their learning and achievement.  The course will use the UP math curriculum as a vehicle to drive the instruction to help students build confidence and motivation to pursue opportunities for success in their upcoming Grade 9 school year.

Course Delivery – Course will commence Friday July 2, 2021 and finish Thursday July 29, 2021.  Synchronous online instruction will occur daily from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.
