With the start of the 2023-2024 school year, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about community involvement hours! In Ontario, every secondary student is required to participate in 40 hours of community involvement in order to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The purpose is to encourage students to develop an understanding of the various roles they play in their community, and to help develop a greater sense of belonging. For more information, including eligible and ineligible activities, as well as the process for recording hours, visit the Community Involvement page or contact your secondary school’s Guidance Department.
Please see the Council of Ontario Directors of Education (CODE) statement on supporting students and gender expression.
