LINDSAY, ON – Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) Lindsay Adult & Alternate Education Centre (AAEC) held an Open House on Thursday, January 24 as an initiative to encourage those who still needed to complete their high school diploma to come back to school.

Attendees were given opportunities to register for courses, tour the school, and meet with the teaching staff.

“As someone who is in his first year as Vice-Principal in the adult and alternate sector of education, I was originally unaware of the amazing opportunities that are available for potential learners,” stated AAEC Vice-Principal Martin Gage. “The Open House allowed us to connect with the community and helped spread the word about our programming”.

Local employment agency, Job Quest was also on hand to provide resources for learners interested in finding employment and the necessary training and skills that would help serve them in their post-secondary career.

The AAEC encourages lifetime learning for all ages. Students age 14 and over can earn credits or upgrade skills in any of our six AAEC’s located in Bracebridge, Fenelon Falls, Gravenhurst, Haliburton, Huntsville, and Lindsay. Potential students have opportunities to complete their high school diploma, pursue a personal interest, explore new career options, or expand their knowledge and skills in a welcoming environment.
